In the past two months, both of the members of are team have had the privilege to visit The Little White House, vacation home of Franklin D. Roosevelt! President Roosevelt came to Warm Springs, GA several times each year to bathe in the mineral waters, which were believed to aid polio patients. It was here on April 12th, 1945 that Roosevelt experienced a cerebral hemorrhage and died shortly afterward. The house is now a national park and features a museum, hiking trails, as well as The Little White House itself. I thought I would share some photos with you all of our visit! Also at the museum, was a special temporary exhibit on the role of chaplains in WWII. Hope you've enjoyed these photos and that you'll be able to visit one day!
-Emma Hello friends! It's been a while since I've done a longer style blog post on here. Today, I wanted to share a new -to-me vintage cookie recipe that I made recently! I made them for a post- Christmas caroling party and I got a few compliments on them, so I thought I would share the recipe with y'all. First, preheat your oven to 375 degrees and grease your cookie sheets. Next sift 2 cups flour and 1/2 teaspoon baking soda together. Next, stir in 1/2 cup melted butter, 1 cup brown sugar, 1/2 cup milk, 1 egg, 1 teaspoon vanilla, and a handful or two of chocolate chips. Drop on to cookie sheets with a tablespoon. Bake for 15 minutes. Take out of oven and let cool for several minutes. Enjoy! Let me know if you try them and tell me what you think! -Emma P.S. The recipe is not my own... I found it online in an antique cookbook. |
